Eating Heritage Symposium 2021 - Marketing & Communications Coordinator
THE EATING HERITAGE SYMPOSIUM (EHS)
In 2019, Really Local Harvest launched the very first Food Tourism Symposium. It brought together key stakeholders from across the ecosystem and saw participation from across New Brunswick and 7 Canadian provinces. The outstanding results of the event's first edition indicated a promising future for food tourism in Atlantic Canada and the Eating Heritage Symposium continues to inspire.
While the tremendous impacts from the past year have been and will continue to be long term, it’s time to plan ahead, build back better and ensure that all have the tools to positively impact New Brunswick’s tourism and food & beverage sectors as part of the COVID-19 recovery strategy.
RECONNECTION will be front and center of the 2021 Eating Heritage Symposium positioning food tourism and local food as a central and key component of the economic and social recovery of New Brunswick. The highly anticipated second edition of the Eating Heritage Food Tourism Symposium will be held in November, 2021.
With a target audience of over 250 participants, the 3-day event will be held in Dieppe with a full agenda ; renowned speakers, panels, conversations, networking, tastings, as well as, experiential tours and its famous one-of-a-kind off-grid culinary adventure.
This edition will be built on an innovative hybrid model; there will be both virtual and in person interactive components to the symposium. The hybrid model will allow maximum participation from local, national and international participants and speakers, while the in-person event will ensure that all safety and health protocols & guidelines in place are strictly followed & respected. It will also allow for local destinations to position themselves as A-list choices in advance of the 2022 tourism high-season.
Recognizing the importance of curated connection making by key stakeholders, the hybrid event will include structured networking & matchmaking between food & beverage producers, restaurateurs & food experience providers, and food tourism & destination promoters.
