About the role

All members of Really Local Harvest are small farms with big hearts! The programming and events organized by RLH aim at promoting and supporting these small businesses and showcases their products, services, operations, and values.  

Reporting to the Marketing & Events Coordinator, the Marketing & Communications Project Officer will need to work with members as well as multiple suppliers and partners. In the first few weeks of employment, the employee will have customized training to ensure professional and accurate representation of Really Local Harvest. This job will require regular interaction with the public, therefore high standards of presentation will be required. Through coaching and regular follow ups with the supervisor, the employee will improve her/his client service skills. The Project Officer will be a motivated, meticulous and dedicated person who is studying in related fields.

Event planning:

The main tasks and responsibilities of this position will be focused on event planning, management and logistics.

Communications and marketing:

The employee will be required to ensure proper promotion of activities and events and will also assist the communications coordinator regularly.

Management:

The employee will have some responsibilities relating to management of budgets, logistics, staff/volunteers and communication.

Specific responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an annual communication plan;

  • Manage Really Local Harvest Social Media platforms;

  • Provide information monitoring on market trends, social media, digital marketing approaches, social marketing, etc;

  • Write news releases, web content or newsletters;

  • Produce, write, format, and release electronic communications;

  • Maintain and feed the promotional material of the organization;

  • Develop and maintain relations with various media;

  • Ensure the establishment and management of the press review;

  • Participate in the organization of events and provide logistical support;

  • Collaborate on budgeting for campaigns and programming for members;

  • Collaborate in the implementation of guidelines, management grids and follow-up documents for all projects;

  • In collaboration with other members of the team, ensures effective communication and promotion for all projects, events and activities;

  • In collaboration with other members of the team, organizes the tasks of volunteers and employees related to the execution of campaigns and events;

  • Actively participate in the solicitation for campaigns and events;

  • Attend and collaborate at project meetings, including post mortems;

  • Advises and assists the Executive Director and Marketing Coordinator in all circumstances, particularly with regard to communications and events;

  • Any other related tasks.

The organization uses multiple online platforms and digital systems such as Google Drive and Docs, Slack (Team communication), AirTable (Data Management), Grasshopper Virtual Telephone System, Zappier, Canva, Mailchimp, Dropbox, Udemy... Most of these tools will be used by the summer employee who will have some training upon hiring. Using these tools daily will increase the employee’s digital skills.


Location: Dieppe, NB

Hourly Wage Rate: 14.00

Duration: 9 weeks
