Our farmers are concerned about the quality of the environment they live in and in which they operate their business. They adopt more and more strategies, namely integrated insect management aimed at reducing the use of pesticides, Environmental Farm Plans, crop rotation and green manure. All these measures contribute in reducing the impact of agriculture on the natural environment. Animal farming is done without hormones or antibiotics and small-scale farming allows for animal-friendly conditions. Some members of the Really Local Harvest Coop are certified Eco-Logik, a label given to farmers who reduce their chemical input, while other members produce foods without any chemical input and are therefore certified organic.
